When blood flow is optimal, it allows each of our cells to get the nutrients and oxygen it needs to survive and to keep us healthy. When circulation is obstructed, inflammation occurs and a variety of illnesses can occur.

Movement and a balanced diet can support and improve blood circulation & we also have a few effective ways that can assist!

1. Infrared Sauna – An infrared sauna session is comparable to moderate exercise, infrared waves of light penetrate deeply into and past the epidermis to engage the body’s cellular response. The radiant heat of infrared burrows deep within the soft tissue to raise the internal temperature of the body. This improves blood circulation by delivering oxygen and nutrients at faster rates to the vital organs, brain, joints, muscles, skeletal structure, and skin.

2. Ice Bath – The natural response to ice immersion is switching to survival mode (fight or flight). The shock brought by ice water puts the circulatory system into overdrive, which increases blood flow to help warm the core and protect vital organs. This process stimulates and improves blood circulation.

3. Self-Lymphatic Massage – A specialised approach that focuses on the lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system. This type of massage aims to help the body maintain proper blood circulation, body fluid balance, and immune functions. To perform, start with the limbs at the furthest point from the heart and massage with sweeping motions upwards (eg. start the sweep at the ankles up to the knee, then the knee up to the top of the thigh).
